Offline ordering

Offline restaurant ordering: keep taking orders when the Wi-Fi drops

A dropped connection shouldn’t stop service. With EETS, waiters keep browsing the menu, adding items, changing quantities and saving orders during a temporary connection loss. Saved orders sync automatically once the connection is back.

How it works

From connection loss to synced order

Offline ordering is built into the waiter workflow, so staff don’t switch to paper or a separate app when the internet is unreliable.

  1. Menu kept on the device

While a staff device is online, EETS keeps a copy of the restaurant’s menu on that device.

  2. Connection drops

Waiters switch to offline ordering: search the menu, tap items, adjust quantities and choose the table.

  3. Order saved on the device

Each order is stored on the device and marked as pending, so nothing is lost while the connection is down.

  4. Connection restored

Pending orders sync to EETS automatically and continue to the kitchen and billing. An order that fails to sync stays on the device so it can be retried.

What’s included

Built for busy service, not perfect Wi-Fi

Search-and-tap menu

Find dishes by name and add them with a tap, using the menu copy saved on the device.

Pending order queue

Staff can see which orders are waiting to sync, which are syncing and which need another try.

Automatic sync on reconnect

When the device is back online, pending orders are sent without anyone re-entering them.

QR hand-off between devices

If one device stays offline, a waiter can show a saved order as a QR code so another staff device that is online can scan it and submit it.

What to know before relying on it

  • Offline ordering covers a temporary connection loss. The device needs to have opened EETS and loaded the menu while online first.
  • Orders saved offline reach the kitchen display and billing only after they sync.
  • Until an order syncs, it lives only on the device that took it. Clearing that browser’s site data before sync removes it.
  • One-click silent printing through QZ Tray needs the connection; while offline, printing falls back to the browser’s print dialog.
